Frequently Asked Questions

Typical lead time is 6 – 8 weeks. It may be longer depending on the item and other delays due to holiday season / raw material shortage / other unforeseen circumstances. Please refer to quotation for the lead time. We will always do our best to expedite for you. Please also help to do your part by issuing the PO quickly.
While we always do our best to expedite the order, for even short lead time for urgent orders, you can consider the expedite fee option. Typically, the plant charges a fee per item per delivery for expediting the material. If you consider this option, please revise the PO with the expedite fee and indicate your required delivery date. If the plant can meet your required date, they will take in the expedite fee. Otherwise, they will decline and the expedite fee will be waived (and shipment date will be back to normal). Check with us for more details.
Oftentimes, the MOQ is imposed by the plant due to minimum quantity required for batch production. It is thus difficult to reduce. While we can quote a lower quantity, the price will be amortized from the minimum production quantity and may be very high for small quantities.
If the quantity required is small, we typically quote a lot charge. A lot charge does not necessarily reflect the true price of material per unit weight. This lot charge covers all the freight, labour, paperwork, processing, inventory, labelling, packaging, packing etc., just for these small quantities of material for you. Thanks.
The typical plant's policy is to warrant only 50% of the remaining shelf life upon shipment. I.e. they will ship out any materials with more than 50% shelf life. However, the plant does ship fresh most of the time. However, there are some materials that warrants only 3 months of the remaining shelf life upon shipment. Please check with us.
Shelf life is defined as the duration between the DOM (Date of Manufacture) and DOE (Date of Expiry). Shelf life varies greatly between products. Check the label or you can check with us.
Working life (usually applies to single-part frozen material) is the usable time of the material at room temperature (after thawing) before its viscosity increases to the point it is too thick to use. Similarly, pot life (usually applies to two-part material) is the usable time when the resin and hardener (catalyst) are mixed together.
The plant does not warrant expired materials, and thus it will not be liable for any issues once the material has passed the expiry date. However, we do have customers using expired material without issues. The decision to use expired materials is at the discretion of the user, and this depends strongly on the specific end customers and applications, as some customers have more stringent tolerance. We recommend doing a study at your side to see if the expired materials can meet your spec, as different customers have different application, requirement and test environment.
Unfortunately, we are unable to extend the shelf life of the material for you. Please see above for usage of expired material.
We can typically provide COA upon request.
It is difficult to do so as the supply chain has been deeply established and everything had been set up properly in the system. There are too many parties & resources involved. It will cause further delay for any shipment re-routing. Furthermore, we had cases of missing shipment with other customer before for such arrangement and had a hard time tracing it. In addition, the shipment is often consolidated with other products as well. Therefore we always advise customer not to do drop shipment directly from the manufacturing site.
Shipment with cold packs (gel packs) typical last a few days, depending on the number of gel packs inserted. Dry ice shipments typically lose up to 5kg a day, depending on the packaging and amount.
